Cedric Bregnard (né en 1974)
Cedric Bregnard is passionate about cycles of life. In his vision, the vegetal world is perceived as a metaphor of mankind’s existence. His first series « Seeds » is related to a very earthly vision of the seed. In « Fly » the seeds are in movement, searching for a convenient place for their development. With « Vital Energy » the artist concentrates on the inside of the seed by focusing the light on its internal structure. The seed is revealed by the work of the negative.
With « Visible to Invisible », Cedric uses recent technological developements in medical imaging to enter the heart of the seed, unveiling its most intimate structures. He makes us discover a new angle of observation of the essential quality.
Cedric graduated from the Vevey photography school in 1998 and currently lives in Yverdon-les-Bains. His workshop/gallery Point Rouge is based in downtown Lausanne. Over the past ten years, he has been exploring nature to convey the language of living material. Through his art, ordinary seeds seem suddenly monumental, millenary cedars forest carry us into a phantasmagorical world.
